Beached at Corniche in Abu Dhabi

It’s a wonderful thing to have friends around the world who take you along to witness charming places. When I visited my best friend in Dubai, she and her family took me for a long long drive to Abu Dhabi. The Corniche which is located in the city of Abu Dhabi (the capital of the United Arab Emirates) was an obvious stop there. Corniche Road forms a sweeping curve on the western side of the main Abu Dhabi island and has fantastic cycle paths, fountains, park areas, and this stunning beach in the picture above.

There are significant sand deposits along the western side and people use this area as a public beach. I loved this picture because it almost looked like a pretty portrait. Not only does it display fun at the beach but the numerous skyscrapers kissing the high skies above. It makes for an exquisite shot what with the sun at it’s mighty high that afternoon, with the sky in a clear blue drape. We luxuriated at the beach to the fullest and then gorged on cinnamon rolls at the Cinnabon Cafe right on the beach. What a splendid day it was!

Are you a beach person? Which is your favorite beach? Do tell me all about it?

Love, Archie
